If you grew up in the 60's you have to have this set. There is not a bad song on this set. The format itself is very cool. A 45 box, cds inserted in classic 45 sleeves and even trivia cards. Although kinda pricey, you do get 6 plus hours of great music. Rhino has again done an excellent job. Buy it, you'll love it.

My husband and I purchased this box set after much trepidation and thought. After all, $100.00(shipping and handling included) is a lot of money for a six CD set. All we have to say to anyone considering a purchase is, It is worth every penny! Each CD is unique and offers its' own testament to the 60's sound-listeners will find themselves singing every tune. The packaging alone is worth the price of admission. Trivia cards highlighting each artist are informational as well as enlightening-listeners are able to see what each artist looked like during the 60's era. The packaging for each CD is just downright "cute" mock 45's. The box containing the CD's is unique and reminds one of old boxes used to carry 45's from place to place. There's even a booklet articulating each CD,the artist and a variety of other useful information. What a great buy! My husband listened to the entire collection at one time-a feat in itself as each CD contains at least 20 songs! The music really takes you back-evoking memories of times gone by. Again, this collection is worth every penny!

Great music and creative packaging!

I bought this box set because it contained numerous songs popular long ago which I did not own on disc. Each time I listened to one of my favorites, I discovered another song I liked and had forgotten about. This box set, more than any collection I own, captures the real essence of a wonderful period in purely American music history. There isn't one disc in this set that's weak. Each can stand alone as is. I never figured I'd see much of this music on disc so finding this set was a surprise. The quality of the recording is good throughout. The nostalgic feel of this box set is greatly enhanced by the creative packaging that comes as a bonus. Each disc is contained in its own high quality 45 rpm-type paper sleeve and both the disc and sleeve are designed to look like the old Motown, Atlantic, Gordy, Cadet, ATCO, Stax, etc. labels. In addition, the set includes individual cards on each artist with a photo and background information. There's also a booklet providing track listings for each disc. The whole set is housed in a box with a handle on top like the ones used in the 60's for carting 45 rpm records around. If your collection is missing some essential 60's music this set is well worth the investment. The music will provide hours of fond memories!
